How to Stop Researching
A stopping rule for the point where more information stops helping the decision.
Research needs a finish line
More information feels productive for a while. Then it becomes a way to avoid choosing. The trick is to decide what kind of answer you need before you start collecting everything.
Ask one plain question:
What decision should this research help me make?
If the material does not move that decision forward, it may be interesting, but it is not what matters.
Use a stopping rule
Try this:
